Sinbar Labeled for Use on Young,
Non-Bearing Fruit Trees

Sinbar Labeled for Use on Young, Non-Bearing Fruit Trees Sinbar (DuPont Corporation) recently received label approval for preemergence weed control in newly planted and young, non-bearing apple, pear, peach, plum, apricot and cherry trees.

For newly planted trees, Sinbar should be applied at the rate of 0.5 to 1 lb. per acre by ground application. One to two applications can be used per season up to a maximum of one pound per acre. The first application should not be made until a significant rainfall or adequate irrigation has been applied to settle the soil around the base of the trees.

Following the planting year, Sinbar should be applied to young, non-bearing fruit trees at the rate of 0.5 to 1 lb. per acre by ground application. One to two applications may be applied per season up to a maximum of one pound per acre. Consider using 0.5 lb. in spring followed by a second 0.5 lb. when activity fromthe first application is declining. Sinbar should not be used on soils coarser than sandy loams with less than 2 percent organic matter.

Tank mix Sinbar with glyphosate or gramoxone for control of emerged grasses and weeds.
